Dr. Mark Gottschalk grew up on a family farm in Hays Kansas. After graduating Veterinary school in 1987 from Kansas State University, Dr. Gottschalk spent one year in the Caribbean in small animal practice and eventually settled in Richmond, Virginia. He worked for Dr. Stephen Lickey at Lakeside Animal Hospital for ten years before opening Wellesley Animal Hospital in 2001 with his wife Dr. Kelly Gottschalk. Dr. Gottschalk has recently completed an acupuncture course at Colorado State and is now certified in veterinary acupuncture. During his time off Dr. Gottschalk enjoys K-State football (Go Wildcats!), golf, playing softball with his church, and spending time with his family which includes his wife and business partner, two children Rachel and Jacob, their four- legged crew of three dogs and one cat, and a cockatiel.
